The location of the project straddling the historic and contemporary parts of Gennevilliers gives this building a dual vocation:
– of being an operation creating an articulation, providing the link between existing buildings and forming an urban landscape that is more coherent and harmonious,
– of being the showcase for Gennevilliers’ regeneration, due to its location at the entrance to the future ECO ZAC Chandon République designated development area and highly visible from the surrounding urban space.
The urban and environmental approach defined the volume of the project. It is translated by three simple and clearly identifiable volumes providing reference points and values expressed at the scale of the town, the district, the street and the housing units themselves.
Resting on a base rising up over four levels, two independent volumes create a dialogue with their environment. The first of these, five storeys high, is located on the corner of two avenues and the second, one storey volume, creates a link with the landscape to the south.
